The Date Override feature allows businesses to adjust working hours or slots for specific dates, deviating from regular schedules. This is ideal for:

  • Holidays or special closures – Remove all hours on Christmas Day.
  • Extended hours during peak seasons – Add 7 PM–9 PM slots for pre-holiday rush.
  • Staff vacations or unexpected availability changes – Block a groomer’s availability for a week.
  • Mobile businesses needing location updates – Temporarily service a new neighborhood.

How to Set Up Date Override

Option 1: Add Date Override from List View

  • Go to Settings > Staff > Shift Management > List View.
  • Scroll down and click < + Add Date Override >.
  • Select the date(s) to modify: The system will display the staff’s regular hours/slots.
  • Adjust:
    • Working hours (update or remove entirely)
    • Service area (for mobile businesses)
    • Booking limits (salon businesses only)
  • Click Save.

Note: Overrides follow the working type (hours/slots) set in the staff’s schedule.

Option 2: Add Date Override from Calendar View

  • Go to Settings > Staff > Shift Management > Calendar View.
  • Single Date: Click directly on the calendar date to edit.
  • Multiple Dates: Click < Add Date(s) > to bulk-select and override.
  • Update hours, slots, or other settings as needed.
  • Click Save.

Types of Overrides

  • Time-Based Override (All Businesses)
    • Change working hours for a specific date (e.g., 9 AM–12 PM instead of 9 AM–5 PM).
    • Remove hours entirely for closures.
  • Slot-Based Override (Salon Businesses Only)
    • Modify time slots (e.g., change 30-minute slots to 60 minutes).
    • Remove slots or adjust booking limits per slot.
  • Service Area Override (Mobile Businesses Only)
    • Update the service location for a specific date.

How Date Override Works in Practice

For Online Bookings:

  • Clients see updated availability based on overrides.
  • Note: This will take effect regardless of whether syncing online booking with shift
  • Example: If you close early on December 24, those slots won’t appear online.

For Manual Bookings:

  • Staff receive alerts if a booking is outside the overridden hours.
  • Note: Admins can still manually override restrictions.
